Who we are

One building. A new chapter.

Our story

Listening before building

After regular congregational worship came to an end, Sheffield Methodist Circuit began a careful process of listening and discernment about the building's future.

Over two years of consultation, local families, students, schools, churches and community partners helped identify what Broomhill needs: inclusive places to connect, support wellbeing and explore spirituality beyond traditional models of church.

That listening has shaped investment in a climbing wall, a creative play town, accessible spaces and a new approach to community building. The aim is not simply to host activities, but to help relationships, leadership, wellbeing and faith grow through them.

How we work

Listening, welcoming and learning together.

The centre is a developing community project. These principles help us decide what to try, who to work with and how the building can serve Broomhill well.

Listen locally

Start with the experiences, needs and ideas of families, students, climbers, neighbours and local organisations.

Welcome without pressure

Create different ways for people to take part, build relationships, seek support or explore faith at their own pace.

Learn and adapt

Develop activities with partners and volunteers, notice what is useful and keep improving as the community changes.

Our vision

Community with more than one way in.

Our developing vision focuses on four connected communities, each shaped around the people who already live, learn and gather in Broomhill.

01

Families

Creative play, shared experiences and supportive relationships for children, parents and carers.

02

Students

A relaxed place to unwind, make friends, care for wellbeing and explore life and faith.

03

Climbing

Adventure, trust and perseverance creating natural opportunities for connection and reflection.

04

Broomhill community

Rooms, partnerships, activities and local ideas that make the centre useful throughout the week.

To grow a welcoming hub where people of different ages and backgrounds can build relationships, care for their wellbeing, explore faith and shape community together.
